Lakeland Health has received accreditation with commendation by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program.
Only one in four hospitals that treat cancer receives this approval, which recognizes quality in comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care. The approval also ensures quality care close to home, access to cancer related information and support and the ability to participate in clinical trials of new cancer therapies.
The Radiation Oncology Department is accredited by the American College of Radioogy (ACR). Lakeland Health has also been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
